NIE application support
The NIE (Foreign Identification Number) is a personal and unique number required for any economic activity in Spain. This includes buying a property, opening a bank account, and handling tax matters.
You can apply for a NIE from outside Spain through a Spanish embassy or consulate, or from within Spain at a foreigner’s office or police station. In all cases, a valid reason for the application must be provided, such as purchasing a property.
Obtaining a NIE does not automatically make you a tax resident in Spain. You are only considered a tax resident if you stay in Spain for more than 183 days in a calendar year. Tax residency involves separate obligations and registrations.
